Rotary names essay winners

WESTFALL - The Milford-Matamoras Rotary Club recently challenged all 11th grade students in an essay contest. The theme of the essay, of approximately 250-300 words, was “The Value of Making Service to Others above Self Interests an Integral Part of One’s Life.” Three Delaware Valley High School students were recognized for their essays and will present their work at an upcoming Rotary Club luncheon meeting. Ryan Balton, son of Bruce and Terry Balton of Milford won the first prize of $100; Georgiy Polyak, son of Irina and Aleksandr Makhnin of Dingman’s Ferry won the $75 second prize; and the third prize, of $50, was given to Ashley-Lynn Kelly, daughter of Colleen and John Kelly of Milford. Balton, will compete for an additional $400 district grant prize. If chosen, he will present his essay at the Rotary District Conference in May.
