The Salvation Army Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Division received a $15,000 grant from Aetna, Better Health Kids, a CVS Health company, to support its summer camp programs at Camp Ladore, less than an hour west of Milford. The grant provided health and wellness items and supported activities and fitness programs for young campers.

According to the Salvation Army, Camp Ladore offers music, arts and sports programs during its summer camp sessions for children ages seven to 16 “to allow campers to explore their interests while also providing them opportunities to develop valuable life skills and healthy forms of emotional expression.”

“Camp Ladore is blessed for Aetna‘s generous gift and support of our organization and its mission,” said Dave Kelly, the camp director at Camp Ladore. “With this funding, we will ensure that Camp Ladore’s programs continue to offer a healthy and safe environment for campers to address their spiritual, educational, social and recreational needs.”

“Children and youth deserve opportunities to develop essential life skills they need to succeed,” said Jerold Mammano, division president, Aetna Medicaid. “By supporting Camp Ladore, we’re helping kids develop good habits, foster independence and improve mental health through artistic expression.”

Aetna Better Health Kids initiative at Camp Ladore includes ways to focus on good mental health for children attending camp. Camp Ladore is owned and operated by The Salvation Army in the mountain ranges of Waymart, Pennsylvania.
