Singing in praise

MATAMORAS - Choirs from five different tri-states area churches gathered in Airport Park on Sunday, Oct. 1 for the annual “Festival of Praise.” Organized by the Hope Evangelical Free Church and directed by Janet E. Clark, the event drew a large audience beneath the pavilion on the sunny autumn afternoon. Rev. Robert E. Grieve opened the event by commenting on how nice it was to unite all of the local churches, ranging from Milford to Port Jervis. The event began and ended with the combined choirs, and featured individual choirs during the program. St. Joseph’s Junior Choir and the Milford United Methodist Church’s youth choir were in attendance among the adult groups. A quartet from the First Presbyterian Church of Port Jervis also performed.
