Abington Comets fall to Delaware Valley Warriors in field hockey

Delaware Valley Warriors Eileen Nikles (25) contributed an assist, Morgan Johns (17) scored three goals, Addy Ross (20) scored one goal, Kara Gearhart (10) scored one goal and contributed two assists and Brenna Cavallaro (12) contributed an assist.

MILFORD — Delaware Valley High School defeated Abington Heights High School (Clarks Summit, Pa.) in varsity field hockey on Monday, Sept. 18.
The final score was 5-1. DV hosted the game.
The Abington Heights Comets lit up the scoreboard first when Shaelyn Kobrynich scored with an assist from Arla Davis in the first period at 13:28.
The Delaware Valley Warriors responded with Morgan Johns scoring goals twice in the first period at 4:20 and 3 on the clock. Eileen Nikles and Brenna Cavallaro, respectively, assisted on the Johns shots. With 56 seconds left in the first period Kara Gearhart scored a goal with an assist from Addy Ross for Delaware Valley.
During the 30-minute second period, Morgan Johns pulled off a hat trick by scoring her third goal at 28:40 with an assist from Kara Gearhart. Addy Ross scored a goal at 4:30 on the time clock with an assist from Kara Gearhart for Delaware Valley.
