Milford. They appeared to have recovered from their loss to Valley View.

The Delaware Valley High School boys’ basketball team recently had a critical game against third-ranked Scranton (DV is rated #10).

DV needed to bounce back after taking a drubbing from Valley View. They didn’t just bounce back, they roared back. DV crushed Scranton 62-36.

Figure this. DV recently crushed highly ranked Wallenpaupack, then lost to highly ranked Valley View, and now the team now crushed #3 Scranton. You know what they say, on any given day!

In the Valley View game covered last week, DV was flat and couldn’t make a basket. Had they been getting their shots, things could have been very different. Of course, they do get to play Valley View again on February 7, so let’s see what happens then. It will be played at Valley View.

Now back to the Scranton game. Here is how that went. Isaiah Berrios had another great game. He was a top scorer with 16 points. Freshman Trey Newton played his usual super self, chipping in 11 points. Tyler Lombardo, as usual, scored well, hitting nine points. Colin McGarvey hit for eight, Mike Brown got seven, Logan Olsommer six, Alex Calvalario three, and finally Big Ben Ioffe two.

So how good is Delaware Valley really? They have shown that when they are on, they can beat any local team with authority. When they are flat and off, they can be beat. It’s already a really good season and if they can get hot and stay hot, they can make this from a good season to a great season. It’s all up to them. Do it boys, we’re all with you.
