D.V. J.V.s secure low-scoring victory against Honesdale
The Delaware Valley Junior Varsity basketball team managed to pull off a win against Honesdale in a low-scoring game on Friday, Jan 27. Honesdale struggled to hit the basket throughout the game, which gave D.V. an opportunity to capitalize on their balanced scoring. The first period ended with D.V. up 9-4. Although the rest of the game was pretty much the same, with low scoring, D.V. managed to maintain a well-balanced effort, and the team continued to have everyone get in on the action. The team managed to come out on top with a final score of 32-27.
In the second period, the teams switched uniforms and Honesdale managed to score, while D.V. went flat, leaving Honesdale up 12-11 at halftime. At one point in the third period, Honesdale was up by three, but Jack Greening put an end to that and helped D.V. to a lead of 21-20. In the final period, Logan Olsommer started hitting and Tyler Lombardo made three out of four foul shots to seal the game. Even though D.V. wasn’t shooting well, they managed to secure the victory due to Honesdale’s scoring struggles.
