Delaware Valley football clobbers Scranton in stinging defeat
Milford. By halftime, the opposing team was toast.
How can you describe domination? We’re talking about complete, absolute and total domination.
Well for the recent Delaware Valley football game against Scranton the word domination is all you need to know to get an idea as to how the game went.
If you see the final score of 40-0 you may think, well yes that was a big win, but okay we’ve seen scores like that before. Folks, that was the score at half time. Delaware Valley was an unstoppable machine, like a well-trained and mechanized army against bows and arrows.
They marched down field almost at will and totally uninhibited. To top that off, the defense was awesome. Scranton never stood a chance.
There was one bright spot for Scranton. A kid named Billy Maloney was a terrific player. He ran the ball, passed the ball, and was their main defensive player.
That being said here are some of the Delaware Valley players that really stood out. Ryder Machado scored two touchdowns, one on a 39-yard run and basically ran with power all night. He was a defensive nightmare for Scranton, even getting an interception. Machado has been the workhorse of this team all year and any school who gets him will have a can’t-miss prospect.
Jayden Ramirez had a great game too, doing some really good power running. Justin Kalitsnik also was an absolute force on both sides of the ball. On one play, Tyler Bird connected with Kalitsnik for an 83-yard beautiful passing touchdown. Kalitsnik also had a 69-yard run.
Quarterback Logan Olsommer had a great game and even scored on a 27-yard touchdown run himself.
Justin Estevez scored a touchdown, too.
Other names that stood out were Mike Luzzolino, Jackson Corrie, and Luke Brazanskas who are regular mainstays.
As noted, the 40-0 total was at halftime. In the second half both teams cleared the benches to get playing time for some of the kids that will be regulars next year.
It really seems like, had D.V. played all out for the entire game, they might have scored 80 points. That’s what domination really means.
So next up is Abington Heights at the Abington field, where we can expect more of the same from Delaware Valley. They are clicking on all cylinders right now and will most likely continue like this right through the playoffs.
