Delaware Valley football holds on to winning streak
Milford. Pittston endured a solid thrashing.
In the first round in District 2 playoffs, Delaware Valley entertained Pittston at the Delaware Valley stadium. They were not generous hosts.
For the second straight week Delaware Valley played a district team that was billed as one of the better ones and then soundly thrashed them by the exact same scores of 42-7. But folks, neither game was that close. Delaware Valley could have piled on the points but played the reserve players instead. It gave the future team a chance to hone their skills and ready themselves for next year.
While watching the game, trying to note every achievement of every player quite latterly became impossible. Why? Because Delaware Valley is such a well-rounded team that a different player is involved in every play.
This team is a marvel. The front lines, both offense and defense, are disrupters to other teams. They are big, fast, and very strong. I don’t know if we will ever see the likes of this team ever again. At the very least, this team will be very difficult to match.
That being said, never count Delaware Valley out. The athletes that this area produces is mind boggling.
It would be easier to just say that everyone needs to get a program and look at all the individual names but here are some names anyway. Now each of these players were involved in multiple plays: Jayden Ramirez, Luke Brazanskas, Justin Kalitsnik, Ryder Machado, Jakob Albaugh, Chris Eisloeffel, Everett Bell, Logan Olsommer, Kolton Handy, Tyler Bird, Mike Luzzolino, and well if I left anybody out then please excuse me. Like I said with Delaware Valley, it is a total team effort and every player on the team needs to be mentioned because every player contributed to the victory.
However, despite their amazing actions, this was not Delaware Valley’s best-played game this year. There were a couple of fumbles, a quarterback was sacked, and more than usual penalties.
In spite of that, Delaware Valley scored 21 points in the first six minutes. Five players scored touchdowns and as I said the line and backs are awesome. But to be a state power you can’t make those mistakes against teams that will punish you for it.
I believe in this team and I want them to go all the way making the entire state know who Delaware Valley is and what a great program we have here.
Let’s go D.V., set the state on fire.
Finally Max Preps listed Carter Faubel, Justin Kalitsnik, Pasquale Venetucci, and Everett Bell the players of the game, with Faubel the overall player of the game.
My pick as usual is Ryder Machado. Everett Bell was perfect in extra points — that certainly needs to be noted.
Well that’s it. Abington Heights will be here next. That will be for the District 2 championship. Win that and go on to the states.
