Delaware Valley girls’ basketball JV team wins against Minisink Valley
Milford. The varsity team came close, but fell short at the end.
Well Delaware Valley’s girls’ basketball season is winding down, so the remaining games are coming fast and furious, both final games and makeup games.
On Thursday, February 15, Minisink Valley played Delaware Valley’s JV and varsity teams. The JV players showed their talents and muscle by giving Minisink Valley a serious drubbing by a score of 50-11. Josie Lordi had a great game and led the way by scoring 12 points.
The varsity players did great too, and through three quarters only one point separated the teams. Unfortunately, the final period fell to Minisink Valley with a score of 39-33.
The quarters went like this: Delaware Valley earned 7 points in the first quarter, 10 in the second, 12 in the third, and four in the fourth. Minisink valley scored 7 in the first quarter as well, then added 11 in the second, 12 in the third, and 9 in the fourth quarter.
Top scorers for Delaware Valley were Leah Bird with 10, Amanda Aragona with 8, Ciara Newton with 6, Keira Lazzaro with 4, Rainna Carr with 3 and Krystina Orby with 2.
