Delaware Valley knocks down Valley View
Milford. The football champs took home another hearty win.
Delaware Valley went up against Valley View this past weekend, and easily beat them by 18 points!
Valley View cut first blood by scoring the first touchdown, taking a 6-0 lead. Delaware Valley came right back and tied it up at 6-6. Delaware Valley got 3 more points to take a 9-6 half time lead.
Delaware Valley owned the second half, taking a 16-6 lead, and then after both scored again Delaware Valley went up 23-12 with a final score of 30-12.
Third down conversions favored Delaware Valley, 7 of 11, while Valley View managed only 4 of 9. Turnovers also favored Delaware Valley, which had only one by way of a Valley View interception.
Valley View had two costly fumbles with a total of three turnovers; the third was an interception by Delaware Valley.
Delaware Valley had a total yard gained of 401 while Valley View had 305.
Delaware Valley passed for 137 yards and Valley View had 131.
Yards rushed was big for Delaware Valley, with 264 yards to Valley View’s 174. So, Delaware Valley led in every possible category. There can now be no question to the fact that Delaware Valley is without a doubt the #1 team in the area.
Delaware Valley defeated the two other top area teams: Scranton Prep and Valley View. Both were undefeated at the time and both so far have only suffered one loss each, sitting at 7-1, and both teams’ only losses came at the hands of Delaware Valley.
District 2 sports, which rates and covers area high school sports, lists Delaware Valley at #1. They listed Ryder Machado as the player of the week.

Delaware Valley coaches picked Logan Olsommer as their player of the game.
With a home game Friday at 7 p.m. and Scranton coming to town, plus the regular season final at Abington Heights, Delaware Valley then will be looking to the playoffs. All the district has to do is win these final two games to set the playoff stage to get another home field advantage.
