The Delaware Valley High School girls’ JV and varsity basketball teams recently played against Valley View and Scranton.

The JV team managed a nice victory of 58-38 against Valley View. Krystina Orby had a fine game while being DV’s top scorers with 16 points. The girls’ varsity team, however, stubbed their toes, taking a loss of 68-50.

Orby and Keira Lazzaro both had nine points in the varsity game. Paris Machado had seven, Jose Lazzaro had six, Jordan Dickerson put in five, while Cecelia Dickerson and Brianna Waldron both had two.

Now the Scranton Game. Delaware Valley took it on the chin, again losing 58-32. Amanda Aragona led all DV scorers with 13 points. Leah Bird and Keira Lazzaro both had seven points, Jose Lordi scored three, and Krystina Orby put in two.

Overall, the team has seen improvement, but we will sure miss our seniors. Of course, the high school has a nice complement of underclass girls here to hold down the fort next year.

Many thanks to coach Mikaela Smith for the fine work with these players.
