DV profile: Mary-Kate Burns
WESTFALL Senior Mary-Kate Burns is a standout student athlete at Delaware Valley High School.
This Cross Country and Track & Field runner is also an AP Scholar, National Merit Scholar (commended), and a High Honor Roll recipient. She is also a member of the reading team, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society.
In the athletic realm, Burns is a dedicated runner who serves as a role model for the younger runners. Fittingly, she was a captain of the Cross Country team this past season.
Being involved in sports and activities has taught me the value of hard work and drive, while my teammates have given me support and friendship, she said. Over the past four years I have learned what it means to be a Warrior.
Burns also raises money for juvenile diabetes, volunteers in special education classrooms and volunteers for the Salvation Army.
I am ready to take on college and lifes other challenges, she said in conclusion.
