DV swim wins 2025 Classic Gold Relay
Milford. Both the boys and girls swim teams took top spots.
The Delaware Valley High School boy’s and girl’s swim teams attended the Scranton Prep Classic Gold Relay Invitational on January 12. Teams from Scranton Prep, Abington Heights, and Tunkhannock were also in attendance. DV won the invitational on their combined boys and girls scores. DV boys tied with Tunkhannock boys for first and DV girls placed second in the girls category.
This invitational is different from the normal swim meet. Every event is a relay with at least four swimmers needed per event. It is a fun and exciting day for the swimmers as well as the spectators.
The events participated in were the 200-freestyle relay, 400-freestyle relay, 200-yard backstroke relay, 800-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard breaststroke relay, 400-yard 4-x-100 IM relay, 200-yard butterfly relay, 5-x-100 freestyle crescendo relay, 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard freestyle relay, and the mixed 8-x-50-yard freestyle relay.
DV girls took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:58.00. The speedy swimmers were Eva Bogusta, Camila Moreira, Kayleigh Jagger, and Chloe Cruz.
DV boys won first place in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:01.64. Liam Fass completed the back stroke portion, Tyler Ingraham the breaststroke, Shane Naturale the butterfly, and Ryan O’Connell completed the team with the freestyle.
In the boy’s 200-yard medley relay, DV again took home the gold with a time of 1:51.70. Liam Fass with the backstroke, Thomas Zaucha the breaststroke, Shane Natural the butterfly, and Joseph Kessler with freestyle.
