DVHS girls’ basketball beats Wyalusing after Mid Valley loss
Milford. The season is now in full swing.
Delaware Valley Girls basketball is under way and here is an update.
The first game against Mid Valley on Nov. 30 did not go as hoped. Mid Valley took the win at 38-26. Our bright spots were Rainna Carr with 8 points, Amanda Aragona with 5 points, and Brianna Waldron with 4.
On Dec. 4, the team played Wyalusing. It was a battle but the DV girls pulled out the victory with a 53-49 win. It sure seems to be coming together so let’s hope so. These girls are talented and we should expect a challenging and competitive season.
The leaders included freshmen sensation Amanda Aragona with 17 points; Brianna Waldron, who is always steady, with 15 points; Rainna Carr, you have got to love her, with 7 points; Ciara Newton, who plays like a bulldog, scoring 7 points; and Keira Lazzaro, who is one to keep your eyes on, who scored 5 points.
We should expect a really fun season from these girls.
Now let’s look at the girls’ JV basketball team, which picked up where they left off last year, besting Wyalusing with a powerful and convincing score of 56-16.
Krystina Orby lead the way with 15 points.
Congratulations, girls, and keep it going!
