Girls’ JV basketball loses to Wallenpaupack
Milford. The final score was 30-26 Wallenpaupack.
The Delaware Valley girls’ JV basketball team recently played against Pike County rival Wallenpaupack. If there was to be any sentimental feelings to a fellow Pike County school, it never manifested itself as they swept through the girls’ team just as they did the boys.
Let’s talk about the girls’ JV team first. This was a very low-scoring affair to say the least. At half time the score was 14-11 with Wallenpaupack in the lead. Both teams had trouble scoring, to say the least.
The third period wasn’t any more generous to either team, so it ended with Wallenpaupack still up 22-16.
It must be mentioned that Delaware Valley had two cancelations and looked a bit rusty. Plus, super freshman Amanda Aragona was out with an injured ankle. She surely was missed and could have added another dimension to the game if she was able to play.
The result then was Delaware Valley losing to Wallenpaupack 30-26. Delaware Valley managed to make it a game but Wallenpaupack reacted faster and was on the ball quicker, giving them the advantage that they needed to secure the win.
