Pitching for Long Island University
Westfall - Delaware Valley High School senior, Jesse Johnson, signed a Letter of Intent to attend Long Island University in the fall of 2006. Jesse, who is the son of James and Barbara Johnson of Dingman’s Ferry, will play Division I baseball for Long Island University as a pitcher. At Delaware Valley, Jesse played junior varsity baseball in 9th grade and varsity baseball in 10th, 11th and 12th grades. He was on the American Legion baseball team, the World Yacht Clippers baseball team, the Moosic Mets team, and the Minisink Baseball Travel team. Jesse was a Cerbo League Division champ and he volunteers at the local summer baseball camp. Besides baseball, Jesse likes to ski and he was on the Shawnee Mountain race team in ninth grade. Academically, Jesse is a math tutor. He has also volunteered for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and he was a toy driver organizer and volunteer. Jesse is an active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. At Long Island University, Jesse plans to major in Business. Jesse gave thanks to Steven Pinto of Pro Prospects, Harry Nelson with Moosic Mets, as well as, Mike Imbriale, Thomas Powers and Joe Mercurio of World Yacht Clippers for their support.
