Several Delaware Valley grads to play sports at the college level

Prior to the June 7 sendoff, several Class of 2024 Delaware Valley seniors signed letters of intent to play their desired sports with notable colleges throughout the country. The school district recently shared those announcements, as well as the students’ higher education aspirations.

Luke Kraszewski, the son of Kurt and Jacque Kraszewski of Milford, signed on to play baseball with Wilkes University, a Division III school. Kraszewski played center field with DVHS, was a captain on the DV baseball team, and a member of National Honor Society and Student Athletic Advisory Committee. He plans to study meteorology.

Robert Russo, the son of Nino and Robin Russo of Milford, signed on to play cross country/track with Marywood University, also a Division III school. He was a distance runner and a member of the Del.Aware newspaper staff, Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and FBLA. He also served as the photographer for the baseball team. In 2023, he was a part of the cross-country team when they won Leagues. In 2024, his 4 x 8 relay team won Leagues and that same team placed third in Districts. He plans to major in multimedia communication with a focus on sports media.

Lawson Hawke, the son of Beth Hawke of Milford, will also be heading to Marywood to play baseball. He played middle infield for DVHS and was a team captain both his junior and senior years. He was also a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. He plans to study exercise science and coaching.

Sophie Alario, the daughter of Fernando and Mavie Alario of Milford, signed on to play soccer with Rutgers University, also a Division III school. She plans to major in athletic training at Rutgers.

Scarlet Sukovich, the daughter of Mike and Dawn Sukovich of Milford, plans to play soccer for Rivier University, a Division III school as well. She was a first team All-State selection while playing at DVHS and plans to major in exercise science at Rivier.
