Wallenpaupack wallops Delaware Valley
Milford. The rival stayed ahead the entire game.
Delaware Valley boys’ basketball played against Wallenpaupack on February 2.
It sure seems to me that Wallenpaupack has had Delaware Valley’s number the last few years. This night was no different, unfortunately. It was pretty much domination by Wallenpaupack from the giddy up.
Here is the ugly rundown. In the first period, Delaware Valley scored 8, to Wallenpaupack’s 16. Then in the second, Delaware Valley added 5, but Wallenpaupack gained another 17.
The half ended with Wallenpaupack in complete control by a score of 33-13.
In the third quarter, Delaware Valley sunk 17, but again Wallenpaupack outscored with 22. In the fourth quarter, Delaware Valley gained another 5, but Wallenpaupack gained 12 for the final total of 35-67 Wallenpaupack.
The scoring for Delaware Valley went like this: Tommy Parker had 10, Isiah Berrios 9, Tyler Lombardo 5, Logan Olsommer 4, Nick Jorgensen 3, Dan Rizzo 3 (to me one of the most fun players to watch), and finally Jackson Corrie hit 1.
The big guns for Wallenpaupack were Justin Blanding with 24 and Jake Holbert with 15.
A point to be aware of is that both Wallenpaupack and Delaware have very good JV teams, so the future battles should be a lot more competitive.
