WESTFALL -The Warriors of Delaware Valley High School are off to Altoona today to play for the Pennsylvania AAAA baseball championship. They won the shot at the title Monday with a 7-1 victory over Philadelphia Area Central at the semi-final game in Coplay. The Warriors, now with a 21-2 season record, will be matched against the Blue Streaks of Manheim Township in the Lancaster Lebanon League, who won their semi-final game against Cathedral Prep to bring their season record to 26-2. The championship game will be played in Altoona at the Blair County Ballpark, the home of the Altoona Curve, the Pirates AA farm team. The game reportedly will be Delaware Valley’s first shot at the baseball crown and the first state sports championship match since the 1978 field hockey win.
