PORT JERVIS - Cornell is a short haired dark grey and white altered male cat. He is about 6 years old and has handsome yellow eyes. Cornell came to the shelter as a friendly stray. Princess is a wonderful 1 1/2 year old brindle colored pit bull terrier mix. She is at the shelter due to a divorce. Princess is housebroken and likes to play with sticks, cardboard and chew toys. Princess lived with children but was too exuberant and rough with them. Princess likes other animals so she will make a great companion. Her favorite place to sleep was on the floor in the bedroom. She will be spayed before going to a new home. Kitten season has begun so if you are in the market for a new little furball this is the purr-fect time to come check out the selection available. Of course, there are also many mommy cats who will be looking for homes too. June is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat month and Petfinder.com lists over 80,000 cats in need of loving homes. Please have your cats spayed and neutered to help lessen that number in the future. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please call or visit the Humane Society of Deerpark/Port Jervis at 202 Rt. 209 North during the following hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Sunday 1 to 3 p.m. The shelter is closed Mondays.
