Open letter to Pike County Economic Development Authority

| 09 Aug 2022 | 09:20

    Dear Editors,

The home owners/taxpayers/voters on this mountain - on Buist Rd, Mountain Springs Rd., Valley Ct., North Ct., Schocopee Rd., Fire Tower Rd., School House Drive, Boulder Rd., Martin Rd., Miller Rd., Evergreen Lane, Forest Drive, Grey Towers Rd., Old Oswego TPK., We will remember what you tried to do to us. We are fighting for our home values - our very existence, to protect the lives we have built for ourselves.

You cared so little for us that you hired a Development Company that resemble yourselves. The EDA, LVL, and National Land developers care little for our Health and Safety. You proclaim arrogantly that *”there is much “to do ‘’ about the aquifer location.”* The EDA members are turning their backs on the scientific studies done by their own hydrologist in 2004 for the Milford Water Authority’s taxpayer funded Source Water Protection Plan.

EDA members were on the steering committee of that study when a professional hydrologist delineated the sand and gravel sole drinking water source unconfined aquifers. I once believed in these leaders.

Your LVL Mike Gable/Dr. Crow duo say there is *”no inherent reasons not to develop that site for a distribution center” *when there are actually a million reasons not to do so. Those reasons are: economic viability, water safety, air safety, noise reduction, traffic safety, human rights and PA constitutional rights concerns, historical and native son’s legacy concerns, the very essence of Milford. But with your own hubris - you refuse to think critically. You are blinded by the latest shiny object - mega warehouses. You have lost your way in the shiny lights of your own boondoggle projects.

We came to your monthly meeting on August 2nd because we thought we could come to reason with you. But instead you exhibited bizarre behavior. Mike Sullivan actually tried to say the EDA had nothing to do with the mega warehouses - when it is all over the EDA monthly minutes since January. He shook his head and grinned everytime we spoke. Very unbecoming and unprofessional. Commissioner’s Matt Osterberg and Anthony Waldron, used the same tactic they used at their Commissioner’s meeting two weeks previous.

They said we were at the *”wrong place.”* And then they put up a smoke screen of meaningless arguments. We were exactly where we wanted to be: the epicenter, command and control center, for the mega warehouse debacle and the Support Services you have planned for your “industrial park” on our drinking water aquifer.

Come to the table with a reasonable settlement and negotiate in good faith.

This land should be now and always should have been in permanent protection status. We are always willing to work with you.

    Respectfully,

    Vito DiBiasi

    Dingman Twp.
