In October, you published my reaction to a letter to the editor from Taylor James, the president of TriVersity. I challenged him to prove his accusation that Pastor Sean Moon from the Sanctuary Church was advocating for the execution of “LGTBQ people.”
To make such a public accusation against someone is very serious and should not be made lightly.
Taylor James contacted me through Facebook and mentioned a specific rap video on YouTube as the source of his accusation. He mentioned that he contacted the FBI and the YouTube channel was closed
I found the video on Rumble. It is specifically about pedophilia and the sexual abuse of innocent children, It does not mention LGBTQ people even once.
It is totally irresponsible for the Pike County Courrier to publish such a letter without even checking the veracity of the accusation. That is pure defamation of character. The Pike County Courier cannot hide behind a letter written by a reader.
Secondly, Taylor James said in his letter that a LGBTQ pride flag was thrown in a bonfire at the end of the Rod of Iron festival; 99% of the readers understood that he meant a rainbow LGBTQ flag.
It was not, it was a “pansexual” flag that no-one knows that it even exists and what it looks like.
If you look at the video of the event, the words LGBTQ or Triversity were not even mentioned once.
Pastor Cook explained that the symbolic meaning of his action was an act of “spiritual warfare” and not an action suggesting physical violence against fellow human beings.
Personally, I would not burn a flag as it will be misunderstood and create unnecessary controversy.
I understand Taylor James’s reaction but he misled the readers in the way he depicted the event. Triversity is trying to manufacture a case against any organisation that does not support their multi genders ideology.
It is my experience that groups who keep calling others “extremists, far-right, bigots, racists, homophobes etc., etc. are the #1 spreaders of hate speech, If you have a different opinion than they have, you will instantly become the target of their attacks.
The Pike County Courier is not acting as a responsible fair and balance newspaper. If I were to write a letter to the editor saying that Mr Tylor James is advocating the execution of heterosexual people, I am sure that the Pike County Courier would verify the authenticity of my statement before publishing my letter.
I am waiting for the retraction concerning Taylor James’ accusing Pastor Sean Moon of advocating for the execution of LGBTQ people or I am askig that you publish this letter as a response.
