About six months ago, a portion of Rt. 209 was torn up, leaving Milford near the Milford township line for some type of piping. The workers did a terrible job of patching their work. So bad in fact, one who cares about their vehicle not falling apart, would veer left to avoid it, until Bennett Ave. They came back last week to repair the lousy job.
Guess what? It’s not better, it’s worse.
There were about 15 so-called workers digging down about 12 inches to replace the bumpy asphalt. I have to travel that road several times a day for work. I know I will get criticized for this, but more than half of them, including the flag people, were glued to a cell phone. This is common today in the workplace.
When you go to work, you’re supposed to work, not answer some useless text message or play video games. And the state says, watch out for highway workers. Well, if they paid attention, they would be safe. Yes, today’s drivers are basically terrible, but people have to take responsibility for their actions, including highway workers.
Meanwhile, the newly repaired road is still bumpy. Another waste of money.
