Shocked that state Senator Lisa Baker wants to open protected lands to fracking
To the Editor:
After falling in love with the natural beauty of the Delaware River and its valley, I bought my house outside Milford 35 years ago. I am shocked that our state senator, Lisa Baker, is now joining a lawsuit to challenge the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC)’s efforts to maintain the natural beauty and unspoiled nature of northeastern Pennsylvania. She wants to join a 2016 lawsuit filed by Wayne Land and Mineral Group, a natural gas driller, to open up protected land to fracking.
I urge voters in Pennsylvania’s 20th district to tell Lisa Baker how they feel about fracking in our communities in the Delaware River Basin when they vote on Nov. 6. We need state senators who will protect and preserve the quality of life in NE Pennsylvania, not damage it. That’s why I’m supporting Jay Sweeney for State Senator.
