Talking to the public is the least voters should expect from a mayoral candidate
To the Editor:
Where’s Lisa Emery, and why is she unwilling to discuss issues important to Milford Borough residents with Mayor Sean Strub?
Last week, I had a brief chat with Lisa as she was promoting her campaign signs near my neighborhood. In response to the question above, she responded that she preferred to speak with voters Individually; when pressed about her reluctance to participate in an independently monitored question and answer session with her opponent, she conceded that Mayor Strub is much more knowledgeable about the issues than she is, so she would be at a disadvantage.
As a matter of fact, Lisa was given the opportunity to become more familiar with the issues, having been appointed to the council’s important Grant Writing Committee. Lisa has since resigned from the committee, citing family issues that require her time and attention. How, then, does she hope to find the time and attention needed to serve as mayor?
Where’s Lisa on the issues? I have no idea, but I know that Sean is and always has been willing and eager to speak with her in a public forum. It’s the least the voters should be able to expect from a potential public servant hoping to lead them for the next four years.
