First, let me provide our readers with some relief. This is my last letter, communication and attempt. I have been fortunate to have the Courier publish many of my letters. Pike County and Pennsylvania have been a home and a dream for me since the 1970s.
We honeymooned in Pennsylvania. Our first real estate investment was in Bushkill, even prior to owning our Long Island home. Our current Pike home was bought in 2003, and a few years later we purchased all the vacant raw land around us. We are blessed with over 18 acres of Pike beauty.
Our County is home of natural, historic and blossoming new treasures. Our 13 municipalities each are blessed with their own unique glories for tourism. We live in a magical lake full, forest embraced, mountain top majestic, and kind people wonderland. Although we currently have a small cancer cell emerging and growing.
I have seen the cancer cell first hand. It started small and in one county body part and then some others. First, it was second homeowners. I understood that due to COVID and its related fears. Second, it spread more into our LGBTQA community. It blustered at recent Pride topics in Commissioners’ meetings.
The IED exploded in recent months. Yes, hate is ignored, excused and denied in our County. Maybe, this is due to our county pride and our strive as a tourist site. Anyone can search the internet and view elected officials’ comments on hate. One may ask where or when will a task force be created. Milford Borough made an attempt, Unity for the Community.
I fear a school mass shooting, a targeted criminal act, or worse. When we ignore, excuse, or deny acts of hate or any level of negative behavior we thus allow a cancer to grow. It is our responsibility, as county residents, taxpayers, and voters to act. Our cancer healing doctors are our elected. We vote and elect our society voices and actors. They have the power as executives, legislators, and justice heads.
Our county commissioners, state legislators and district attorneys are failing us as our hate cancer doctors. I said this is my last communication. I am old and more so sick of trying to aid and help all our loving kind peers. It appears some in Pike desire to allow our hate cancer to enter Stage 4. My baton is passed. I am done and gone soon. Bye.
