To the Editor:
Last week I did an uncomfortable thing.
I spoke at a school board meeting.
For the first time ever.
We have two kiddos in elementary school.
The topic doesn’t matter, but...
I did it because it would effect the health and safety of our children and the family.
Was the most uncomfortable I have felt in a long time.
Was going to speak.
Then wasn’t.
Then heard a voice in my head saying...
“You got this. Your kiddos need advocates speaking up for them.”
So I spoke.
It was uncomfortable, really, really uncomfortable.
But it was worth it because family is so important.
Showing up is important.
Using your voice is important.
