Veterans Memorial Park and Education Center receives Richard L. Snyder Grant
Veterans Memorial Park and Education Center in Matamoras is extremely grateful to have been chosen to receive a grant from Greater Pike Community Foundation’s Richard L. Snyder Fund to help complete the World on Fire monument and companion stones.
Richard L. Snyder was one of Pike County’s greatest supporters. He was active in many cultural, conservation and civic organizations and he was a founding member of Greater Pike Community Foundation and it is an honor to receive a grant in his name.
This $5,000 grant will allow Veterans Memorial Park and Education Center to finish this monument.
Veterans Memorial Park and Education Center was established in 1998 and it is a constant work in progress creating monuments to provide a history and educational environment for the Tri-State region and beyond.
Greater Pike Community Foundation was created to enable generous individuals, families and local businesses to maximize their charitable support through organized, targeted, long term and community philanthropy. The Foundation provides a permanent personal way to give back to the region we love and have worked so hard to nurture and maintain.
The Veterans Memorial Park and Education Center Society has as its mission to make Americans of all ages aware of the sacrifices made by millions of men and women of all origins who made this nation of ours their homes. They did so because they wanted a life of freedom for their children and grandchildren. These monuments are our effort to accomplish that goal to make young and old alike aware of our magnificent history.
