Characteristics: They don’t make dogs like this anymore! Hero is an outgoing, goofy guy with a great sense of adventure and curiosity. A true dog’s dog, Hero loves exploring and absolutely loves the water — he will splash around in puddles, streams, and lakes all day. He loves toys, running in a yard, but also snoozing on a couch. Hero is strong and confident, making him perfect for homes looking for a companion but also households desiring assistance letting you know if someone is at the door. His perfect home would be a family with teenage children, a couple, or a single adult. He’s been in homes with dogs before, and has been in dog playgroups; he can be with another dog depending on personality. Unfortunately, a home with small pets would not be a match. Hero knows basic commands. He is also crate trained. Hero has endured kennel life for five years, without having his spirit broken — a difficult feat for most dogs. We know his family is out there.
