The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) Gallery has announced the first exhibition in the newly renovated gallery with the opening of “ABSTRACTION” at 959 Main St. in Honesdale.
The exhibition opened with an artist’s reception on June 23 and is on view through July 28.
Artists were invited to submit artwork that uses shapes, colors, forms, and gestural marks to create artwork representing a visual representation of pure abstraction.
Participating artists include Cynthia Shaw, Adison Davis, Alan Wood, Alicia Alverez, Barbara Briden, Barbara Carpenito, Cynthia Hanson, D.C. Anderson, Geoffrey Fowler, Jane Haimes, Jason Badum, Joan Polishook, Kat Beisel, Kathy Lewis, Mary Turner, Monique Milleson, Nancy Wells, Nancy Palubniak, Naomi Teppich, Rena Hottinger, Robert Kafes, Ryan Hnat, Susan Stephan Foster, Violet Brand, Xenia Kugler and David Harvey.
The purchase of the WCAA’s new building, gallery and headquarters was made possible by a $75,000 matching grant from The Wayne County Community Foundation - Florence Longmire Treat Fund.
The WCAA Gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
