It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved father, son and brother Peter Snyder at his home in Greenville, Maine, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025.

The son of David Snyder of Milford, Pa. and the late Kathleen Briscoe Retallick, Pete was born in Newton, N.J., on July 12, 1976.

Pete worked for Aucoin Property Services in Greenville, Me. When not working, you could find Pete doing what he loved the most, hunting, fishing or snowmobiling with his two boys, Matthew and Wyatt, who brought him great joy and he loved with all he had.

When you met Pete you knew you had a friend who would do anything for you, at any time - as long as it wasn’t during hunting season.

If you needed Pete during deer season he would be at his happy place, Paul’s deer camp with his Dad, brothers David Jr. and Brian, longtime friend Chet and hopefully, Matt and Wyatt.

You never had to question if Pete was around: you’d hear him and he could keep you laughing.

Pete is survived by his beloved sons, Matthew Snyder and Wyatt Snyder, both of Greenville, Me., and their Mother Amie Snyder, parents David and Sharon Snyder of Milford, Pa., brothers David and wife Kimberly Snyder and nieces Isabella and Sophia Snyder of Davies, Fla., Brian Snyder of Milford, Pa., and Nicholas Retallick of Orlando, Fla., aunts, uncles and cousins not to mention endless friends, both new and from school days.

In addition to his mother Kathleen Briscoe Retallick, Pete is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Marilyn and Bob Hunt, Claude Briscoe and paternal grandparents Harry and Ruth Snyder.

The family would like to thank all the people in Greenville, Maine, who were like family to Pete and opened their homes and hearts to us during this difficult time and to all the people who made the drive or flight to be at the celebration for Pete in Greenville.

A Celebration of Life is being held Saturday, April 26, from 4 to 9 p.m., at the Dingman’s Firehouse on Log Tavern Road in Milford, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donation to Moosehead Rider’s Snowmobile Club at P.O. Box 1145, Greenville, Me. 04441, would be appreciated to support one of Pete’s favorite activities.
