It is with great sadness that the family of Robert P. Cervati reports his passing on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Pennsylvania. He resided in Greeley, Pennsylvania and previously resided in Union City, Weehawken and Forked River, New Jersey.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend will be greatly missed. He was a retired professional Union City Fireman for Union City, New Jersey, a past member of St Patrick Church, Milford PA, and current member of the Saint John Neumann Church, Hawley, Pennsylvania, and a member of New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association.

He had a love for God, nature, gardening, animals and was a train buff. Robert proudly was a United States Army Veteran, having served from 1958 to 1960. He lived out his dream to move from the city areas up to the mountains and built a log home and beautiful garden to live out his life surrounded by nature.

For many years, Bob and Mary would spread Christmas cheer to the people of their community and surrounding townships as Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus and bring many smiles to the children, along with small gifts. He built many wonderful long lasting friendships along the way, many he remained in contact with until his passing. Friends will remember that he never complained about feeling ill. He always responded saying he was “Maginificent” or “Bodacious.” Bob will be remembered by many for his great sense of humor and caring love for his family and friends.

The son of the late Anthony and Italia Rose (Fasoglio) Cervati, he was born on May 6, 1940, in Hoboken, New Jersey. He was married to Mary (Riddick) Cervati.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Cervati; son, Anthony Cervati; daughter, Nancy Cervati; grandchildren, Jensen and Kyan Cervati in North Carolina; nieces, Tracey Belvedere, Megan Donaway, Bonnie and Patricia Riddick; nephews, Thomas Donaway and Matthew Gilcher; sisters-in-law, Laura and Karen Gilcher; brothers-in-law, David and Gary Gilcher and father-in-law, Fred Gilcher in New Jersey.
