Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers’ (WMCHC) first annual wellness event, “Unity in the Community,” is slated for Friday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Honesdale Central Park.

Attendees can look forward to free refreshments, live music, a variety of health and wellness vendor tables and a chance to win an overnight stay for four at Kalahari Resorts.

Family activities at “Kids Central” will include a bounce house, face painting and crafts. For adults there will be chair massages and education on ways to achieve or maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“A little over a year ago we were brainstorming on how we could give back to the community,” said Katelyn Haytko, executive assistant at WMCHC. “With input from a planning committee and an overwhelming show of support from our community partners— either as sponsors or vendors—we are excited to invite the public to come together to celebrate physical and emotional wellbeing.”

“There will be something for everyone!” said Haytko. “We encourage families to bring blankets or chairs and enjoy the evening.”

WMCHC is a federally qualified health center. Visit www.wmchc.net for more information.
