Lackawanna County. State troopers investigate fatal crash on SR 307

June 10, 2023 shortly before 6 a.m., Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Dunmore Station responded to a fatal crash on SR 307 in Spring Brook Township.
The deceased was identified as Kadan Rabender, 17, from Spring Brook Township. Rabender was ejected from the crash into a wooded area and was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner’s office.
The driver, Ayden Beckage of Jefferson Township, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton for treatment.
Beckage submitted to chemical testing for suspicion of DUI, the results of which are pending. The investigation is ongoing.
